The Rural Health Research Gateway is hosting a free webinar titled “Diminishing Access to Rural Maternity Care and Associated Changes in Birth Location and Outcomes.”
Carrie Henning-Smith, deputy director of the University of Minnesota Rural Health Research Center, will discuss recent work from the Center regarding loss of hospital-based obstetric care in rural areas. Among the material to be shared will be information from the Center’s study that was published in JAMA in March 2018 describing changes in birth locations and outcomes after rural areas lost obstetric services.
